Placemaking and Public Realm

Public space is where the larger idea of a place meets everyday life. We explore how streets, gathering spaces and development edges can support movement, comfort and connection.

01

Start with life between buildings

We consider how people arrive, move, pause and gather. Reading the surrounding context helps a public-space concept relate to its neighbourhood and to the activities at its edges.

02

What the work can include

  • Pedestrian movement, access and connections.
  • Public-space concepts and a hierarchy of places to gather.
  • Active frontages and relationships between buildings and streets.
  • Landscape relationships, transitions and opportunities for continuity.
03

Bring the public realm into the wider project

Concepts are coordinated with the masterplan and planning strategy. Detailed regulated professional work is carried out by the appropriately authorized subconsultants engaged for the project.
